Fairtrade Fortnight, which aims to encourage people to ‘Change Today, Choose Fairtrade’ is fast approaching (26 February - 11 March 2007). Christy, the UK’s best loved towel brand is the first towel company in the UK to introduce a Fairtrade collection into its range.
Changing an everyday item such as a towel can make a positive impact on the lives of millions of farmers in developing countries. Christy’s Fairtrade range is made from 100% Fairtrade combed cotton, sourced directly from farmers in India at a fixed price, ensuring a stable and regular income.
The range comes in four neutral colours, Rice White, Oatmeal, Aloe and Stonewash with each colour available in four different sizes. The herringbone-style header bar and end hem create eye-catching details whilst the subtle shades complement any bathroom scheme and contribute to supporting the developing world.
Fairtrade Fortnight aims to improve shoppers’ understanding of how Fairtrade brings about positive changes for developing world communities. The FAIRTRADE Mark is an independent certification that disadvantaged producers in the third world are receiving a fair deal for their labour. Fairtrade guarantees them a minimum price for their products as well as an extra premium to be used for community development projects. With over 2,000 Fairtrade Certified products available worldwide it’s easier than ever to change what you eat, drink and wear |
